Gujarat Mail is a superfast Indian Railways train which runs overnight in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad section of Western Railways.
The train was originally numbered as 1DN/2UP Mail & is today renumbered to 12901/12902. It has the honour of having most number of Air conditioned coaches(Excluding Full AC trains). It has a total of 12 AC coaches. This 24 coach Mail, usually hauled by a WCAM-2 electric locomotive has scheduled stops at Valsad, Surat & Vadodara among many others. 5 Sleeper class coaches are added to this train at Dadar WR in Mumbai. Thus this train becomes a 24 coach train.
Although called a mail, the train does not carry postal mail any more.
